Firearm Sales
Due to the current pandemic, there is a firearm and ammunition shortage all over the U.S. We cannot take orders at this time because we cannot guarantee when we will receive more inventory. Please be patient at this time. We are continuing to do everything we can to bring our inventory back up to our normal level. Check out www.ontargetesales.com for available guns. Please be aware that because we sell firearms nationwide, not all firearms on the e-sales page are CA-compliant or on the CA DOJ handgun roster. We will cancel your order if it is not allowed in California
General Firearm Purchase Information
- California law requires a background check to be submitted. The paperwork involved is called a Dealer’s Record of Sale of Firearm or DROS.
- California law requires a 10-day waiting period when purchasing a firearm. (Some exceptions apply.) This means ten 24-hour periods, down to the second. The firearm must be released within 30 days from the DROS date. If the purchaser does not pick up the firearm within 30 days, a new DROS must be submitted, along with another 10-day waiting period and an additional DROS fee.
- DROS Fees are as follows
- $37.19 + $10 processing fee
- $10 for each additional firearm (dealer sale firearms)
- $31 for each additional private party transfer DROS
- Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives also requires a form to be filled out. This form is called the ATF Form 4473.
